October 2018 Newsletter
In case you missed it here’s a little video update on what we’ve been up to.
As you can see, the suitcases are out again and we’re getting ready to leave Hong Kong in December!
We are so thankful to be living in a place like Hong Kong. When we have a medical problem, we can always find a doctor close by. Fifteen-year-old Gélore had an eye accident in Congo and became critically ill. New Sight treated him, and against all odds, he survived and his sight was saved. Sadly, many people in Congo and neighbouring countries are facing the devastating reality of blindness, and many have no access to medical treatment.
Planning for the establishment of the new teaching eye hospital in Ouesso is going very well. With help from amazing partners such as yourself, we have already raised US$4.8 million towards the cost of construction. We need your help to close the gap on the outstanding US$2 million.
Please join us and bring your friends to our last fundraising event before we return to Congo. We will give an exciting update on the latest development as well as share some new thoughts and stories that we have gathered since we last met.
Time: 6.30pm on Saturday, 24th November 2018
Place: Metta, 21/F,California Tower, 30-32 D’Aguilar Street, Central, Hong Kong
