For seven years, Harneche, a 31-year-old from Pointe Noire, Congo, had been desperately saving for a cataract operation in Morocco, because his uncle, a doctor, advised him to go abroad for help. Harneche’s blindness cost him a dream job in IT. One day, his mother visited him from Impfondo and told him about New Sight. Despite the objections of his uncle that it was impossible to get healed in the backward jungle of Impfondo, he took 2 planes and travelled 1000 km to New Sight. When he arrived, he still had many doubts and his mother encouraged him, saying, ‘What is impossible to man is possible to God.’
Before the operation, he was impressed by the eye centre’s medical devices, and his mind was put at ease by Henri’s kind manner and faith. He concentrated on praying during the operation, and continued praying during the night afterwards. The next morning, when his protective eye pad was removed and he realised his prayers were answered, he jumped off the bed with joy! He left Impfondo with thankfulness, telling everyone on his flight that his eyes were healed, and promised to have a celebration in Pointe Noire to tell people about regaining his sight. He now treasures being able to read books to his daughters and is trying for that job again.
